MEMORY CARD/FLASH/EXTERNAL HDD NOT DISPLAYING FILES YET SPACE IS CONSUMED

Many people have been experiencing this problem on their removable storage.

Description:
The space is consumed but when you try to click and open the device especially when its connected to a computer, there is nothing displayed.
Its as if the files don't exist. It must be mind boggling!

Solution
1. Don't format the device.
2. Scan it with an updated antivirus to clean off any virus/trojan etc
3. Go to Run under start menu, then type CMD

4. Type drive letter assigned to your device e.g. F: or G: or H: depending on the computer you are using. Then click enter on the keyboard, the CMD environment should now be reading the same as your device's drive letter.

5. Type attrib -s -h -r /s /d

(Note that there is space between each of the letters,
type attrib leave space
type -s leave space
type -h leave space
type -r leave space
type /s leave space
type /d leave space)

6. Hit enter on the keyboard and wait for a few seconds, then your check my computer and your device should now be very okay and you are good to go!

NOTE: This must be done on a computer that is 100% virus free for maximum results.
